California Dreaming: Part 1 – Los Angeles

Los Angeles

We split our week to take in the best of Beverly Hills with some added beachside bliss.

Montage Beverly Hills – 3 nights

Luxuriate in genuine care and artfully crafted experiences that evoke the city’s legendary glamour, Montage Beverly Hills creates a welcoming respite amid Los Angeles’s most exciting and sophisticated pleasures. Release into a highly customized, stress-melting massage at Spa Montage. Retreat to a private, poolside cabana on the rooftop and savor panoramic views of the Hollywood hills. Indulge in soulful Italian cuisine at celebrity Chef Scott Conant’s culinary gem, Scarpetta. Or simply relax on the private balcony of a guestroom rich in both modern comforts and the classic ambiance of a historic Beverly Hills estate.

Shutters On The Beach, Santa Monica – 3 nights

When sand and sea beckon, head for Shutters on the Beach, a boutique-style getaway that feels more like your own lavish seaside cottage than a traditional hotel. The serenity of the interiors and guestrooms is complemented by modern technological amenities and the impeccable service of a gracious staff. Don’t miss ONE Spa, with its menu of signature therapies featuring Red Flower products; try the Japan (Energising) Treatment, which uses flower oils, fruit essences and rich minerals from the earth and sea to pamper your skin. One Pico is the hotel’s signature restaurant with a market-fresh menu and panoramic ocean and coastline views.

Beverly Hills

Sugar Fish

Opposite Montage, Sugar Fish is one of Beverly Hills’ hottest dining haunts. The menu is created early each morning when Nozawa and Fujita visit the LA fish markets to select the fish for the day. During the meal, each course is served to all guests at once. The cadence and tempo of the meal have been mindfully created to allow each course to be enjoyed to the fullest.

Mr Chow

A combination of old authentic Beijing and Original Recipes. Chicken Satay, MR CHOW Noodles and Ma Mignon all were created by our passionate and skillful chefs. On the Menu is one of the best prepared Beijing Duck in the world.

The Bazaar by José Andrés, SLS Hotel

The Bazaar, the world-renowned restaurant by the James Beard award-winning Chef José Andrés, makes its East Coast debut with a vibrant mix of sophisticated cuisine and playful indoor-outdoor lounge spaces.

The Bazaar menu blends Andrés’ Spanish heritage, tradition and ingenuity with influences from South Beach’s local Latin flavors.

Santa Monica

Tar & Roses

A Santa Monica mainstay, this moodily lit, buzzy bistro sports seasonal American small & large plates, plus an ample wine & beer list.

FIG Restaurant, The Fairmont Hotel

The L.A. Times calls it, “a raging success.” FIG features only the freshest local and organically grown ingredients straight from the Santa Monica Farmer’s Market. Chef focuses on ingredients that are in season resulting in dishes that L.A. Confidential calls, “simply prepared items with a focus on flavour and quality.”

Soul Cycle

SoulCycle is indoor cycling re-invented. Forty-five minutes is all it takes to transform the way you look and feel. Get ready for fat-burning cardio, a full-body workout (they’ve added hand weights and core work!), and choreography to work your core.
